Being I often don't use a recipe, I keep a little ratio cheat sheet on my fridge. Having a visual helps, especially when my husband is "blending". It helps with add-in ideas at 5:00 a.m. when I am still dead to the world. It also keeps me from forgetting to add liquid and burning out my blender (don't ask). Using a green smoothie cheat sheet has also made it possible for me to stick to drinking at least one smoothie a day.

These ratios make about two smoothies, or one depending on how many calories you are looking to get. I like adding a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil or peanut butter to "bulk up" my smoothie into a meal. You really can't go wrong, I have rarely met a smoothie I don't like.
