This smoothie is amazingly decadent. If it wasn't actually green, no one would ever know what was in it. My kids think they are getting a treat and when I am craving chocolate (erryday), this works for me.
As always, you can play with the ingredients and the amounts. As I've said before, I find spinach the least "noticeable" of the greens. I also think that using almond (or soy) milk helps the consistency with this one.
|This smoothie is the bomb!|
The "Doesn't Taste Green" Green Smoothie
2 cups Almond or Soy Milk
2-3 cups Leafy Greens
2 Bananas Peeled and Chopped
2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
¼ Teaspoon Cinnamon
Sweetener to taste, if desired
Blend liquid and greens on high until smooth
Add remaining ingredients and blend on high until desired consistency
Add sweetener, if desired.
Serve to your children. Cackle maniacally as they think they are drinking a milkshake and you know that they are drinking something that they would not touch in a million years!
When I started planning smoothie-ing, I thought it was going to cost me a fortune, but I've honestly saved so much money. Drink your greens!
